Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring (seed). It does not say, "And to offsprings," referring to many, but referring to one, "And to your offspring," who is Christ.
Galatians 3:16 ESV

Whatever else was fulfilled as a result of God's promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel), the primary and overriding purpose in God's mind was always focussed on Jesus Christ, his Son.

Everything that happened to the children of Israel through the centuries took place with this objective in view. That the Messiah (Christ, Anointed) would be born in Bethlehem, a descendant of Abraham and David, fulfilling all the statements made by God's prophets. And that by means of his death and resurrection he would accomplish salvation for both Jew and Gentile, for everyone who believes.

It was always God's aim that the victory achieved by Jesus' sacrifice would bear fruit and multiply throughout the nations, as the message is spread, enabled by the Holy Spirit.
