CORONA CRISIS
Jesus said: "... I will build my church ... "
(Matthew 16:18)
I didn’t have any idea our countries across the world would be faced by the Corona/Covid-19 crisis when I wrote the last two blog posts.
Understanding that our governments want to protect us all against the virus, as good citizens we need to respond accordingly and compassionately, with the love that the Holy Spirit inspires in our hearts. Our greatest concern needs to be for those who have no hope if they have not as yet received the salvation that God has provided through faith in his Son, Jesus Christ.
If we are believers in Christ then we are still the church whatever transpires.
The words of Jesus are very encouraging! He said that wherever two or three gather together in his name he is there among them. This includes the times when we meet via the internet, during the present lockdown that many are experiencing.
May God give us courage and common sense. Our church communities need to function in such a way that we will be able to continue the work of God in the most extreme circumstances.
Thankful our community is already adapting. I'm sure many are doing the same.
Thinking of those who have continued to follow and serve the Lord in places where various extremities have been a longterm daily reality.
God bless you wherever you are.
